Who we are
ThorntonbyChelsea ("we", "us") provides educational advisory, admissions consultancy and academic preparation services in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website and our services. You can contact us at tabitha@thorntonbychelsea.co.uk.
Information we collect
When you contact us or arrange a consultation, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, and information about your child such as their age, school year, educational needs and goals.
How we use your information
We use your information to respond to enquiries, provide and arrange our services, communicate with you about your child's education, manage bookings and invoices, and meet our legal obligations.
Our lawful bases are: taking steps at your request before entering a contract; performing our contract with you; our legitimate interests in running and improving our services; and compliance with legal obligations. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
Children's information
We handle information about children with particular care. We collect only what is needed to provide appropriate advice and support, and we obtain it from a parent or guardian. We do not use children's information for marketing.
Sharing your information
We share information only where necessary: with tutors and specialists who work with your child, with service providers who help us operate (such as email providers), or where required by law. We never sell personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for up to 12 months if no services follow. Client records are kept for as long as we work together and for up to six years afterwards for legal and accounting purposes, unless a longer period is required by law or safeguarding obligations.
Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. We set only the minimal cookies needed for the site to function, and these do not track you across other websites. If we introduce tools that set additional cookies, we will update this policy before doing so.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to access, correct or erase your personal information, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, email us. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
