School Entrance & Admissions
A higher standard for school entrance preparation.
Every family begins with a conversation with Charlie or Tabitha. We get to know your child, assess where appropriate, recommend suitable schools and a preparation plan, and coordinate carefully matched teaching where it will help. Every family also speaks with Charlie during the process.
School choice
Finding schools where your child will flourish
A good school choice starts with the child rather than a league table. We consider attainment, reasoning, temperament, interests and family circumstances, then talk through which schools are realistic and suitable, and why.
- Initial consultation with Charlie or Tabitha
- Educational assessment where appropriate
- School selection and admissions strategy
- Interview guidance
Preparation
Teaching coordinated around a clear plan
Where preparation is needed, we match your child with a specialist tutor and keep the work tied to the schools and assessments you are aiming for. Schools set different tests and timelines, so plans are built around your shortlist.
- Individual tuition
- Group classes
- Mock examinations
- Interview preparation
Two levels of advisory
Consultant-led guidance, or principal advisory with Charlie
Consultant-led services. Assessment, strategy, tuition and preparation delivered by our education consultants and specialist tutors.
Principal advisory with Charlie. Direct access to our Founder and Principal Education Adviser throughout the process.
Details and fees for each level are discussed on enquiry.
Entry points
7+, 8+, 11+, 13+ and 16+
7+ and 8+
Early entry points, where schools tend to look at a young child's readiness, reasoning and enjoyment of learning as much as formal attainment.
11+
The most common entry point for independent senior schools, and for many families the decision that needs the most planning.
11+ guidance for Year 4 and Year 513+
Entry to senior schools at Year 9, which can involve a pre-test some years earlier as well as later assessment.
16+
Entry to a new sixth form, where subject choices, predicted grades and interviews come together.
Discuss your child's school plans
